A little about me.

I grew up in Whitby, just outside Toronto, and studied mechanical engineering at Queen's University. I've lived in a few places since, and these days I'm happy to call Vancouver home.
Some of my closest friendships go back to university. We've stayed close through different cities, careers, and stages of life, and those relationships mean a great deal to me.
Work
How I got here
I started my career in renewable energy before moving into management and strategy consulting. I enjoyed learning how different businesses worked and helping solve problems, but gradually became more interested in the technology behind those businesses.
That eventually led me into technology consulting. Later, while working independently, I started teaching myself to code in the evenings. I liked being able to take an idea, figure out how it might work, and build something tangible.
Over time, what began as an interest became something I wanted to pursue more seriously.
I eventually started Vantj, a software company focused on manufacturing businesses. Manufacturing has always interested me because there's something compelling about the people and companies that actually make the things we rely on.
Building a business has been the most challenging professional undertaking of my life. We're still early, and there's plenty we haven't figured out. But I enjoy working closely with the businesses we serve and gradually turning what we learn into something useful.
Outside work
People and places.
I've spent time living in Calgary, Whistler, Kelowna, Vancouver, and a few places overseas. Moving around has given me an appreciation for different places and ways of life, although there's something about Western Canada that keeps drawing me back.
I enjoy being active, especially in the mountains, and I like travelling and discovering somewhere new. I also appreciate the quieter parts of life: cooking, music, films, and spending time with friends and family.
The places I've lived and things I've done have been memorable, but a lot of my favourite memories are simply about the people I've shared them with.

That's a little about me. If you'd like to say hello, feel free to get in touch.
